The cell mitosis cycle is very important because it helps the cells to be sure that it is in proper condition to undergo mitosis. If there were no “checkpoints” to make sure that the cell is in working condition then during mitosis the two sister cells could become mutated or damaged. The “checkpoints” make sure that the cell will be able to properly start and complete the process of mitosis without any mutations or missing bases.
THE CELL CYCLE:
First the cell goes through the first stage of the cycle; growth and preparation.
Next the DNA begins to replicate itself in order to make another nucleus.
Then the cell resumes growing and preparing itself for mitosis.
And finally the cells splits into two and the cycle is complete.
